About

Where Have You Been is a live show at Bluestockings bookstore. Each month, three guests talk about travel, adventure, and activism in front of a curious audience. The show is hosted by me, Jeff Stark, and I conduct all interviews and lead a question-and-answer session with the audience.

I started the show in 2006 because I wanted a place to share stories about what happens in the rest of the world. New York has a way of swallowing homecomings. We are a notoriously self-interested city; circle the globe and your friends just tell you what you missed. This show is a forum for intrepids to bring the world home and share it with the rest of us — travelers as well as those of us who don’t get out much.

Where Have You Been is graciously hosted by Bluestockings, a collectively owned, volunteer-run radical bookstore on the Lower East Side. Bluestockings sells great books and sponsors excellent events; please support them.
The beautiful photographs on this site are copyrighted by the photographers who shot them. Please do not use pictures without permission.

The site’s title photo is by Steve Duncan, and was shot in a cave somewhere underneath the Twin Cities.
